| Description |
English: Inchriach Forest The kettlehole terrain is very challenging to navigate through, so this lot have a tough hour or so ahead of them. The start at one of Scotlands finest orienteering venues.
Access off paths here is controlled due to a healthy population of capercaillie. Events are restricted to the Autumn or Winter, so the forest is unlikely ever to hold a major event. A capercaillie caused problems for the event by attacking event officials, and some courses were shortened to avoid the territory. A great problem to have, as 10 years earlier, the bird was on the edge of extinction in Scotland. Numbers are recovering now. |
