English: Karlsruhe Friendship Bridge under construction in the English city of Nottingham. The 104m-long truss girder tramway bridge (centre middle distance) will shortly be inched into position across Nottingham Midland Station. For the time being, it spans Queen's Road and has reached Platform 6. It will carry a double track and a new Station tram stop, linked to the main entrance on Carrington Street. The picture was taken from the current southern terminus of the tramway. The new bridge exactly follows the alignment of the former Great Central Railway bridge, which was removed in the 1980s. |
