Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The Inchanga Station built by the Natal Government Railway (NGR) in 1892.

The station was originally built with a double story, and the top floor housed a tea-room where passengers travelling between Durban and Pietermaritzburg used to have lunch.

In 1900 the station was at its full size, but was demolished to the present size in the 1930’s.

Today the Station is the headquarters of the Umgeni Steam Railway (USR) and the Railway Society of South Africa – Natal (RSSA-Natal). The RSSA now use the station building to house its Railway Archives Library, and on the last Sunday of each month, the Inchanga Choo Choo is steamed and leaves the Inchanga Station to Kloof.
