Description
English: A Pegasus Engine memorial was unveiled at Naval Aircraft Yard, Kochi on 23 January 2018 by CS Rathore MCAA I and Shri PK Vinod Kumar FM (Gz), two of the longest serving personnel at the facility. The memorial was dedicated to all the Yard personnel who were associated with this project. Rear Admiral VM Doss, Assistant Chief of Naval Staff (Air Materiel) witnessed the inauguration of the memorial along with over 100 serving and civilian personnel. The facility was set up under the name Project Ashok and was commissioned on 28 September 2002 and has produced 56 Pegasus engines, a major milestone for naval aviation and is a testimony to the commitment and professionalism of Yard personnel. The Pegasus engines were produced at the Yard till the Sea Harrier aircraft were retired from service on 11 May 2016.
