Summary

[edit]
Description
English: In Stenson Lock, Trent and Mersey Canal, Derbyshire Showing the bottom pair of mitre gates. This is the last of six wide locks at the eastern end of the Trent and Mersey Canal. This lock, which is about to be filled, has a drop of 12ft 4in (3.3 metres). Two narrowboats can be accommodated side by side. The maximum beam width for larger boats is ten feet as far as Burton-on-Trent (Horninglow) though I have never seen two of those trying to pass by each other.
