English: A Gresley K2 2-6-0 at Immingham Locomotive Depot. View approximately SW, with K2 No. 1724 at the large ex-Great Central Depot serving Immingham and Grimsby Docks and industry. In 1947 the Depot had an allocation of 94 locomotives:- 6 4-6-0, 8 4-4-2, 8 4-4-0, 8 2-8-0 (2 LNE, 6 LMS-type), 11 2-6-0, 17 0-6-0, 3 0-6-2T, 30 0-6-0T,3 0-4-0T; these were of a remarkable variety of about 15 Classes, including several ex-GC types, a large batch of ex-WD 0-6-0T and six LMS-type 2-8-0 recently acquired. (The K2 was an ex-Great Northern type, visiting from Colwick (Nottingham). |
