Summary[edit]
DescriptionImage of the W43 star-forming region from the Spitzer Space Telescope.jpg |
English: The star-forming region W43 observed by the Spitzer Space Telescope. W43 is one of the most active star-forming regions known in the Galaxy. Dark lines in the image are dust lanes, which trace the location of the molecular cloud from which the cluster forms. Hot stars ionize gas around them, blowing the bubble and producing the bright nebula seen to the lower right in the image. The image uses the IRAC bands I1 (blue), I3 (green), and I4 (red). |
