The pins are cut outwith the dove-tail saw and firmer chisel, the saw cut-tuig with the grain of the wood, and the chisel acrossit. After the pins have been made they are held downon the piece of wood intended for the sockets. Fig. 107(5), in the position in which they have to be inserted,and their shapes accurately marked off on to one of thefaces of the other piece of wood. These lines are con-tinued at right angles across the end of the wood with thesquare. The sockets are cut out with the dove-tailsaw and small firmer chisel.
