Text Appearing After Image: Wild Goat (Cafra ir^a^nts). JJireitJt cegagnisoli. E. Gray. .T. V. Brandt asserts thatthis is incontestably and exclusively the source of the do-mestic gnat. In fact, the name a^ja<jtitt may have beenapplied sometimes to goats run wild, and the Capra aga-nruft of Ijotli Ci. and F. Cuvier, the bezoiu-goat, ascribed toPersia and the Alps, is said to have been merely the do-mestic goat run wild. The celebrated Angora goat mayhave been derived from a ditferent species or variety,Capra/akotuiri^ originating in central Asia. The goat orrcpagrus in all its varieties is closely related to the ibex,Capra ibex, which, however, is a distinct species. In thestomach and intestines of the goat, as in those of other ar-tiodactyls, are found the concretions called bezoar-stones.Also written cegagre.
