Inconstruction, and in the way it is used, it somewhat resemblesA (Fig. 51); but it differs from it in having the blade curvedlengthwise, to facilitate the work of hollowing out. The spoon iron isdifierent in form.It is shown in thesmaller illustration(Fig. 52), and re-sembles a knifeFig. 52. Carving Tools. A number of tools, more or less like the preceding, are usedin wood-carving. Some of these carving tools are flat, withrectangular edges; others are oblique to the direction of theirlength, with a bevelled edge on both sides; others are concave,with a circular edge, or have two edges meeting in a point.They are straight in some cases; in others, curved. The edge tools hitherto described consist of a single steelblade, with a cutting edge of various descriptions, and ahandle for one or both hands.
