In a sea-urchin of more or lessglobular shape nearly the whole superficies is aelinal. The so-called mouth is always placed at one end of thesepoles, and from it radiate the most prominent organs, inconsequence of which I have called this side of the bodythe oral or actinal area, and the opposite side the aboralor abactinal area.
