In an open meadow are three tents, in one of which Bahrain Gur is standing with his wife, who holds a child in her arms. In another, two women arc conversing.Outside an old man hails upon a stick, another pla\s a pipe,goats and gazelles nurse their young, while on the trees birds areI < relied. Imam, wearing aturban of light blue, is stated on a donkey, drawn with astonish-ing realism. Surrounded by an inner border rosetted in gold or.a red ground and by a broad border of rocks with trees and birdsin gold on a pale purple ground. Second and Last Afternoon No. 332 PERSIAN MINIATURE (Sixteenth Century) Height, 7 inches; width, 5 incites Painted in gold and colors. From a MS. illustrated by ShahMahmoud and dated 1522 A.D. On one side of a brook arepitched tents, in one of which sit Bahrain Gur and Khousrau. Inanother a woman prepares food, while a butcher near by is cut-ting up meat. On the other side of the brook a woman is boilingfood over a fire, and in the brook Bahrains son is bathing. Sur-rounded by a border of flowers, animals and birds in gold on anivory-colored ground.
