it is statedon the back of the panel, it was left to Her Grace, Maria Janetta, Duchess ofSt-Albans by her attached and faithful friend, Lieutenant Colonel Francis,Cunyngham, who died Sept. 19 th. 1816. - 84- FRENCH SCHOOL BOILLY (Louis-Leopold)(1761-1845) 72. - A Family Scene : The Returnof the Father Three persons, father, mother and daughter, are standing atthe door-way of a dark building. The father is dressed in the costumeof the end of the XVIII. century, with his hat lying on the ground.The wife has a light silk dress with lavender-coloured bodice, andthe girl a green silk frock. The three hold each other entwined, andthe father is looking tenderly at his little child. Canvas, 21 1/4 in. by 18 in. Mlle LEDOUX (Philiberte)(1767-1840) 73. — A little Girl at her Toilet She is standing before her toilet-table, almost in full front, herhead bent to the left, her hands crossed over her breast. BOUCHER (Francois)(1704-1770) 74. Cupids near a Fountain Two little rosy Cupids, seated on draperies of various colours,are bathing their feet in the water of the fountain. The latter iscomposed of a marble group of two Cupids holding an urn, fromwhich the water is flowing. At the foot of the fountain is a lion,sculptured in marble. Canvas, 10 in. by 24 3/4 in. GREUZE (Jean-Baptiste)(1720-1805) 75. The two Sisters In an interior of modest appearance, an old man, seated, is push-ing away his daughter who is standing before him in rich costumeand is offering him a purse of money. With his left arm he protectshis second daughter, plainly dressed, who is seated beside him. Alittle dog with yellow ears is in the foreground. On the left, aretwo little children, leaning against a chair and looking on withastonishment. Canvas, 23 in. by 28 1/2 in. - 88 -
