Summary

[edit]
Description Portions of an 1899 timetable for the Illinois Central Railroad. Trans mentioned are the Southern Fast Mail, the Diamond Special and the Daylight Special. Both the Diamond and Daylight Specials traveled between St. Louis and Chicago. The Diamond Special was a night train, while the Daylight Special was a day train. The successor to them appears to be the Green Diamond.
