Summary

[edit]
Description Illegal piping penetration firestop made of fibreglass and lagging adhesive, which is supposed to be applied around the outside of pipe covering, not to finish off a firestop. This is a case of misappropritaed approvals. The installer could show listings and compliance for insulation, flame spread etc., all irrelevant, but official-looking, but this installation effectively negated the 3 hour rating this concrete wall should have had for the sake of a few dollars' worth of false economies savings.
