| Description |
One of two views showing the walking route between the York Road entrance at Ilford station and the footbridge over the tracks from which passengers can use steps to reach the platforms. The brick structure with an arch is where the original footbridge was located - this had to be replaced in the early 1980's to allow for a larger safety gap (from the overhead wires) when the electric power supply was changed from 6.25Kv AC to 25Kv AC. Alas, the old bridge and walking route were weather protected - but the new facilities leave passengers to get wet when it rains. |
