Description
English: ILE ORO

An ancient Armoury located in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State, Nigeria. Ile-Oro would have been in existence since the 18th century. During this time, people of Egbe are not just farmers but they are also valiant warriors, they protect themselves with walls and produce poisonous weapons to fight insurgence from Slave raiders and the Nupe communities.

"Ile-Oro (poisonous house) has been in existence since the 18th century" After the last( BETWEEN WHICH COMMUNITIES???) war the people of Egbe can't keep the poison and dangerous charms, then they agreed to make a hole of about "9" feet, shaped like a well to hid the poisons.

To protect people from the danger of this poison a "12" feet building was erected on it Well sealed since the last war.

Ogba-Onimosi clan of Ainke, are known for the maintenance but it was the duty of the King to block air from going or coming out of it by plastering it always.

During the last Egbe Mekun Carnival Temidayo John Tunde who is the team head and also the tour guide asked the people who lived close to the site about experience when someone happens to touched it.

"Severe body ache and migraine " they said This is what stop people from touching or getting closer to it" ILE ORO
