Legg merke til katolikkenes store kombinerte bolig-, skole- og kirkebygg med Jesu Hjerte kirke som ruver i landskapet. Jesu Hjerte Kirke ble oppført 1877 - 1880, arkitekt Carl Julius Bergstrøm (1828 - 1898).

Jesu Hjerte menighet ble opprettholdt inntil 1929, da den ble slått sammen med St. Olav menighet.

Her lå også St. Elisabeths Hospital (opprettet 1887) som ble drevet av St. Elisabeth-søstrene inntil 1970, da hospitalet ble underlagt RiT (i dag St. Olavs Hospital). Hjerteklinikken ved St. Elisabeth ble nedlagt 2010.
