Description

Esta iglesia, alle donde existía un monasterio, el de San Paio, que fue incendiado por los vecinos en rebelión de los abusos sufridos por los monjes. De este monasterio queda el topónimo de su lo La iglesia actual es de origen románico y sigue conservando de esa época la base estructural, que cuenta con un ábside casi cuadrangular y una nave rectangular. Además destaca la fachada, en la que hay un campanario; la puerta, situada en esta fachada, está rodeada de una doble arcada de medio punto volteada sobre columnas proximas. También son destacables los arquitos lobulados de la arcada superior.

En el interior de la iglesia, destaca la capilla mayor cubierta con una bóveda de cañón sostenida por dos arcadas de medio punto, subrayando el arco triunfal de entrada que se voltea sobre las columnas de capiteles vegetales.
