Description

A Igreja de Santo António é a Igreja Matriz do Estoril, e foi edificada em 1527, no local onde anteriormente existia uma ermida dedicada a São Roque.

A igreja que chegou aos nossos dias passou por diversas catástrofes, como o terramoto de 1755, que a deixou parcialmente destruída, sendo de imediato recuperada entre 1756 e 1758; em 1927, sofreu um grande incêndio, que quase a destruiu por completo, mas também desta vez a recuperação não tardou.
