Description

A Igreja de Santiago, à semelhança da Igreja de São Pedro, também é proveniente da época da Idade Média, sendo a atual resultante de uma reconstrução quinhentista, continuando posteriormente a sofrer obras de remodelação.

No século XVIII, com as cheias do rio Sizandro que inundaram a parte baixa da vila, as obras forçadas que o templo recebeu fizeram com que, da primeira campanha quinhentista, restassem só alguns janelões, contrafortes e o portal principal.

Descrição Posicionada longitudinalmente, apresenta uma planta retangular com uma só nave e capela-mor. A nave está coberta de abóbada de berço de caixotões, única e larga, sendo de abóbada de cruzaria e simples na capela-mor e revestida de azulejos setecentistas.

A fachada divide-se em três panos, sendo o central com o portal rasgado em arco de volta perfeita de arquivoltas inteiramente cobertas por lavores manuelinos, há ainda uma janela em verga reta e encimada por um óculo redondo. É rematado por um frontão contracurvada e no lado direito, adossada a esta, está a torre sineira.
