Description

É uma das poucas igrejas da América do Sul sob invocação da padroeira do México. Foi construída pela devoção dos homens pardos libertos ou escravos da Vila de Olinda entre os aos de 1626 a 1629. Na época de sua construção, Portugal fazia parte do governo espanhol e talvez por isso a predileção pela santa da devoção espanhola.
