Summary
[edit]DescriptionIgorot with live dog.jpg |
English: In 1904, a group of 300 "Igorrotes" were brought from the Philippines to the Louisiana Purchase Exposition, where they served as an exhibit. 60 died in transit; the remaining 240 formed an impromptu village where they kept, butchered, and ate dogs. This image depicts an Igorot tribesman strolling through the grounds of the Exposition, accompanied by a live dog -- "his lunch". |
