Description
Español: La iglesia de Santa Clara y el convento que lleva el mismo nombre, fueron fundados el 25 de mayo de 1648 fecha en la que se inició la construcción de la antigua iglesia ubicada donde hoy se encuentra el Palacio de la Cultura. La benefactora principal fue Doña Francisca de Vargas, quien financió la construcción del convento y la iglesia con las rentas de su hacienda que se encontraba en Cliza. La construcción del actual templo se efectuó entre 1912 y 1918, bajo la dirección del Ing. Julio Knaudt., en un sobrio y elegante estilo gótico. Está ubicado sobre la calle 25 de mayo, entre Av. Heroínas y calle Colombia.
