Description
Español: La primera iglesia de Santo Domingo, fundada en 1588, subsistió hasta el terremoto del 2 de febrero de 1736 que la destruyó totalmente. La reedificación fue concluida en 1741. La levantaron miembros de la familia Arboleda y el Deán Dn. Mateo de Castrillón Bernaldo de Quirós, que costeó la nave de la epístola. Aquellos eran descendientes directos de Francisco de Arboleda Salazar, quien con su hermano el Pbro. Dn.Pedro, habían construido la primera. La actual ostenta un hermoso portalón en piedra, de estilo rococó, que junto con su pila fueron tallados antes de 1754.
