La iglesia parroquial esta en el barrio de Santa Marina (parte alta del pueblo de Puerto de Vega-) , denominado «la catedral del barroco rural». Tanto para el proyecto arquitectónico como para la decoración interior se contó con arquitectos y artistas de prestigio. Así, la redacción del proyecto arquitectónico corrió a cargo de José González Muñiz y José Francisco Menéndez Camina, arquitectos avilesinos que trabajaron en Asturias desde finales del XVII hasta el principio del XVIII. El Puerto de Vega (Veiga en asturiano) que es un pueblo y una parroquia del concejo asturiano de Navia, en España. Su nombre fue durante siglos Vega de Navia, hasta que a principios del XX se cambió al actual, razón por la cual en toda la comarca circundante se le denomina coloquialmente Vega. Pista primera Iglesia parroquial declarada Bien de Interés Cultural (BIC) con categoría de Monumento. Pista segunta Iglesia parroquial en asturias, es un pueblo que como curiosidad cambio su nombre a principos del siglo pasado Con categoria de parroquia esta distribuido en cinco poblaciones y tambien tiene un puerto pesquero Su construccion es de mediados del siglo XVIII. En su interior tiene siete retablos todos del mismo autor, excepto el de esta virgen, la iglesia tambien cuenta con un organo.
