Description
Español: Alfonso III de Asturias (866-910) construye una basílica para acoger el sepulcro de Santiago (872), mejorando las obras de Alfonso II de Asturias (791-842), artífice, éste, de la Iglesia de Santiago, Iglesia de San Juan Bautista, Iglesia de San Salvador y Monasterio de Antealtares. A los monjes benedictinos del Monasterio de Antealtares le construyen este oratorio de Santa María de la Corticela (899), siendo obispo Sisnando I, que amuralla la ciudad.
