Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Pow Wows are an annual event at many Native American reservations. They are a combination of social, spiritual, and commercial activities. A major event is the dance contests, where various categories of dancers compete for cash prizes. The dancers in this photo are not in competition, but rather an opening ceremony which welcomes the many tribes and cultures which have come to participate in the week-long activities.
