| Description |
English: Ice-scoured outcrops Ice has stripped away the layers of rock very neatly here, where beds of re-worked tuff of the Lower Rhyolitic Tuff Formationdip very gently. In the middle distance at the left of the image (by the sheep), darker-coloured, rough-looking outcrop is made up of the Bedded Pyroclastic Formation. Basaltic volcanism was prominent towards the end of the main phase of Ordovician Snowdon caldera and resulted in the deposition of many thin layers of tuff and volcaniclastic material. |
