English: Ice-plucked outcrop The low terrain has been ground smooth by ice moving southwards across the granite bedrock. Here a low hummock in the granite shows how ice moving from left to right across the image has ridden over the 'upstream' side of the rock and left it smooth and bare, but has plucked at the 'downstream' side and left it shattered with angular pieces torn away. |
