English: Wall of the new post building in the city center of Ibbenbüren, Kreis Steinfurt, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The wall was designed by artist Hans Gerd Ruwe who also created the Christel von der Post figure, which is visible in the middle of the picture. The brick wall contains parts of the old post office building made of sandstones and was built in 1983.
Deutsch: Teil der Posthofmauer des neuen Postgebäudes am Bahnhof in Ibbenbüren, Kreis Steinfurt, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Deutschland. Die Mauer hat der Künstler Hans Gerd Ruwe in Zusammenarbeit mit verschiedenen Verwaltungsstellen entworfen. Von Ruwe stammt auch die als Christel von der Post bezeichnete Bronzefigur im Mauerfenster (Bildmitte). Die 1983 errichtete Backsteinmauer enthält Teile des alten Postamtes, dessen Fassade aus Ibbenbürener Sandstein bestand. Die Christel-Figur schaut aus dem Giebel des früheren Postamtes – erkennbar auch am Posthorn-Relief – hinaus auf die Wilhelmstraße. |
