Cities of Wisconsin and eastern Minnesota are shine through the circular window at the International Space Station along with a blue and green glow from an aurora through the side panels on the right. The largest city at top is Minneapolis, Minnesota. The second largest city is Milwaukee, Wisconsin at bottom. To the left of Milwaukee are Racine and Kenosha. To the right and somewhat above Milwaukee is Lake Winnebago, appearing very dark. On the left of Lake Winnebago is the city of Fond du Lac. Above it is the city of Oshkosh, and to the right of it is Appleton. To the right of Appleton is Green Bay. To the right of Green bay the cities of Marinette, Sturgeon Bay and Sister Bay appear more faintly. Taken at 1:34:50 AM CDT on March 14, 2012 from an altitude of 211 nautical miles (391 km) during Expedition 30 of the International Space Station. |
