Description
English: NASA astronaut Kate Rubins inspects the Bigelow Expandable Activity Module (BEAM), collecting radiation detectors and microbial samples from various surfaces as part of a regular checkup of the module Sept. 5. BEAM is the first test of an expandable module attached to the station, allowing investigators to gauge how the habitat can protect against solar radiation, space debris and the temperature extremes of space.
