Summary

[edit]
Description
English: THOMAS IREDELL BUILT THIS HOUSE IN 1793 FOR HIS SECOND WIFE, REBECCA. ITS DISTINCTIVE CHIMNEY DESIGN IS CLAIMED TO BE ONE OF ONLY THREE FOUND IN THE UNITED STATES. THE INITIALS T.A.R. ON THE FRONT PEAK FACING THE ROAD ARE BELIEVED TO STAND FOR THE NAMES OF THE THREE IREDELL CHILDREN -- THOMAS, ANN, AND REBECCA.

THIS HOUSE IS NOT LISTED ON THE REGISTRY BUT ITS SIGNIFICANCE IS OBVIOUS. I NEED TO SEND 2 PICTURES TO PROPERLY DEMONSTRATE THE ARTWORK WHICH IS DIFFICULT TO PHOTOGRAPH BECAUSE OF THE TREES
