Title |
IOW-A02461 Medieval Ewer Leg/Foot |
||
Description |
English: A Medieval cast-copper leg/foot from a ewer (water jug), c. AD 1300-c. 1500. This leg is one of three that would have been integral with the base of the vessel. The inside face of the leg is flat and the outside face is faceted to form an irregular pentagonal shape in cross-section. Immediately above the foot there is a prominent horizontal ridge. This does not extend around to the rear face. The foot has four facets at the front and is slightly hollow on the underside. |
