Description
English: A Medieval cast-copper rim/handle from a ewer (water jug) or posnet, c. AD 1300-c. 1500.

This object consists of a small portion of the rim and a fragment of the handle. The handle is sub-circular in cross-section.

Traces of a green patina exist on the handle and on the inner face of the vessel. The breaks are old.

49.97 x 30.07 x 19.91mm. Weight: 79.49g.

The object could be part of a ewer (Geake 2001: ill. 24) or a posnet (Butler, Green & Payne 2009: 2).
