IOW-402504 Post-Medieval Spoon ('seal-top') |
||
Description |
English: A fragment of a post-Medieval copper-alloy 'seal-top' spoon (1500-1650). This fragment is the knop only. It has a flat circular disc ('seal') as the terminal which is plain on its upper face and has a diameter of 11.7mm. Beneath the disc, integral circular sectioned elements are arranged: baluster/collar/baluster. A small portion of the stem survives but it is not possible to ascertain its original cross-section due to breaks and corrosion. The object has no patina and is covered with loose powdery light green copper-alloy corrosion products. Length: 18.8mm; diameter of top: 11.7mm. Weight: 5.34g. |
