Description
English: INS Nireekshak, the Submarine Rescue and Diving Support Vessel (DSV) of the Indian Navy is on a visit to Trincomalee, SriLanka to undertake joint Indian Navy - Sri Lanka Navy SLN dive training. The ship would be the dive training platform for joint dives of IN-SLN divers on various wrecks in and around Trincomalee. The Commanding Officer, Commander Mohammed Ikram called on Commander, Eastern Naval Area, SLN, Rear Admiral Sanjeewa Dias and held discussions on various issues of mutual interest. The ship is equipped with state-of-the-art diving systems and is capable of undertaking Saturation and Submarine rescue dives. She is fitted with a Dynamic Positioning System (DPS), which enables her to maintain precise position during Submarine Recue/ Diving and Salvage operations.
