Description
Español: durante los primeros años del cementerio la decoración de las lápidas se limitaba a los nombres de los difuntos y algún arreglo floral y que la expansión de la simbología funeraria se evidencia en la década de 1850: “. A diferencia de lo que ocurre hoy, los entierros en nicho eran más costosos que los realizados en el suelo del camposanto. Y en las lápidas aparecen distintos relieves de imágenes de los parientes de los difuntos, árboles, como sauces o cipreses, ángeles, columnas rotas, antorchas invertidas y otros elementos alegóricos a la tragedia, el drama y la tristeza”.
