"New BK’s Guitar of the Week—This one is for Flashback Friday. The 1986 ESP M-1 I am holding here was one of the first that I got from ESP Guitars. Many of my friends in New York City who were in the guitar business started to work there. I preferred some of their models to the Animalize tour Charvel guitars I was playing. Basically a Strat body with one pickup and a Floyd Rose, it had a bolt-on neck featuring a Rosewood fingerboard. This is the guitar I was using during the Asylum tour for my solo presentation. It had a good tone, and was a good weight so I could run around the stage… and those crazy Asylum stairs! I would offer the guitar to the “gods," and then played on the floor and made it feedback and cry. This guitar is at the Hard Rock Cafe London, above the staircase that leads to their famous vault. I took pictures of it on my trip there a few years ago, and many fans send me photos when they visit the shop. I'm super proud that it's been there for many years. The guitar had a flip-flop blue color to it, which is very unusual actually, and very uncommon nowadays in the guitar universe. And that's something I'm proud of, too! "
