Description
English: British Rail introduced their InterCity 125 trains in October 1976. Forty years later they are still providing front line service around the country. They have been changed many times over the years to suit evolving needs. The first modification was to introduce a Trailer Guard Second coach (TGS) so that the guard could be moved out of the noisy power cars. This train, a Great Western Railway set at Bristol Temple Meads, shows the guard's office and luggage van of TGS 44049 couple next to power car 43029. The latter has lost its side and end windows which were originally provided to allow the guard a better view.
