| Description |
English: Huyton Station, Liverpool and Manchester Railway, about 1970 The entrance to the main buildings and booking office. Inside the entrance, a subway dropped down to the left, linking with platforms 2,3 and 4. Sandstone blocks used in the construction of this station are pierced to accept bolts - it is said that they were original sleepers on this historic line. The gate to the left led to a short goods bay, out of use by the 1960s. Today the original building remains, but stripped down to essentials. |
