English: Spc. Mark Hoffman, a heavy equipment operator with the 827th Engineer Company, removes sand and debris deposited by Hurricane Sandy on a street in the Breezy Point section of Queens, NY., Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012. Hoffman, and the other members of the company, were called on duty in the days after Sandy hit the seaside community and have taken part in debris removal operations, food and water distribution and other missions while working in the area, one of the areas hardest hit when Sandy made landfall.
