[edit]DescriptionHuntsville Eastern Division Headquarters of the Memphis & Charleston Railroad Freight Building Ruins Removed.jpg |
English: After burning in the early morning hours of March 11, 2004 the Huntsville Depot Freight building built in 1856 and sometimes described as the oldest operating railroad building in America, was proped up with hopes of renovation. A number of logistical difficulties and waning public interest left the building remains to the elements until around January 13-14, 2021, when the ruins were removed with little or no public notice. This photo was taken on the morning of January 14, 2021.
