Afterconcluding the history the author turns his attention to thepresent position of the country. lie mentions first the towns, andof course speaks in high terms of Budapest. lie finds the social lifetliere very pleasant and it pleases him that the Hungarians havea special liking for the English. But the author does not wishto dwell any longer on Budapest as he is desirous of giving atrue picture of country life which he finds in the Alföld. TheAlföld is described by Mr. Felbermann in most precise andglorifying terms, and he does not omit to mention any particulartype. . . .
