| Description | Unfortunately it was feeding time, and almost all penguins were out of the water and had placed themselves at the farthest end of the rather large enclosure under very poor lighting, purposely kept that way for the birds. Although I zoomed in fully, the combination of poor light, large aperture and slow shutter speed ensured that I got a very fuzzy shot. The African Penguin (Spheniscus demersus), also known as the Black-footed Penguin is a species of penguin, confined to southern African waters. It is also widely known as the "Jackass" Penguin for its donkey-like bray, although several species of South American penguins produce the same sound.(Al Ain, UAE, Dec. 2012) |
