Description
English: (1 of a multiple picture set)

My dad supported his family with a welding and repair shop where the white garage door is. In later years, he moved in to the front of the building where the two windows are. But the first shop holds more childhood memories for me than any other place in town.
We learned to work there and later we built our hot rods there with Dad's help. The building is just north of the railroad depot. Dad left from this building to fight in WWII, and came home through its back door 3 years later.

It is now August 2013, and I've just come back from a trip to Hull, Iowa. I went to see his shop again . . . and it's gone! My Mom was buried next to him a couple months ago, and so now there is no trace of their many years in Hull, other than the headstone at the cemetery. It is dust to dust, is it not?
