Description

"Taxonomy: Family=Linaceae" Local name(Telugu) Kaaki beera A common liane found in scrub forests of south India.twigs tomentose; Leaves elliptic obovate, glabrous, Flowers yellow 1.5 to 2 cm across, terminal or axilary clusters. The lowest of two peduncles of each branch often turned into spiral hooks.Calyx5 lobes, corolla 5 , stamens 10, connate into a short tube ovary 5 celled, stles 5 filiform, drupe globose fleshy.

Bark is aromatic and used as antidote for poison.
