| Description |
English: A Calcutta insider will tell you an easy way to beat the traffic gridlock and chaos of Calcutta's streets and the Howrah Bridge when you want to cross the Hoogly (sic): simply take the ferry! There are two routes, one to Chandpal and one to Babughat. This is the Babughat end of the ferry terminal. The entrance is a beautiful structure built on the lines of a Roman building, but we could not photograph it due to the sleeping folk in and around it. The entrance (this one) was separate anyway. Babughat / Babooghat is located along the river bank on Strand Road at the Calcutta side. May 2009). |
