Summary

English: Howed Meadow The name of the field according to the 1842 tithe map and once part of Homewood Common that was enclosed in the mid 16th century. Much of the surrounding area was cleared of trees and hedgerows in January 1943 to create Chailey Advanced Landing Ground, a temporary airfield, that was decommissioned in January 1945. |
